About This Spot

Carolina's Mexican Kitchen feels like that welcoming neighborhood spot you stumble upon and instantly want to come back to. Tucked into a cozy corner off busy Tenaya, its inviting warmth is punctuated by vibrant murals that hint at the creativity flowing not just on the walls, but also in the kitchen. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between lively and laid-back — where music gently hums in the background and conversations spill easily across tables without hurry.

Inside, the mood is casual yet thoughtful, with friendly staff who bring a genuine care to every interaction, making sure each visit feels personal. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed lunch with coworkers or a spirited dinner with family, all while savoring food crafted with both tradition and an imaginative twist.

The menu quietly surprises with dishes that offer layers of bold, comforting flavors — like the slow-cooked richness of birria woven into unexpected forms, or shrimp kissed by spicy chipotle and garlicky butter sauces. Each plate feels generous and deeply satisfying, echoing the unpretentious vibe of the kitchen where family-inspired recipes are lovingly reimagined. Sharing a basket of freshly fried chips with guacamole and salsa here is as much about the ritual as the taste, setting the scene for meals that linger warmly in memory.

Carolina’s is a place where food is an experience that invites you to slow down and savor human moments — whether in the upbeat energy when it’s buzzing or the quieter, intimate pauses during off hours. It offers a sense of connection, both to the vibrant culture behind the dishes and to the everyday stories unfolding around each table.

This restaurant was amazing. I cannot express enough how awesome my experience was here. To preface, I have followed this restaurant on social media for a few years now. I wish I would have gone sooner but I am no longer a local. The food is phenomenal. I have never in my life tasted such flavorful Carne Asada in my life. The Birria egg rolls were a flavor combination I would have never imagined. The quality of food and service with the atmosphere ties well together. It is a small restaurant but feels extremely close to home. I love the art adorning the walls. It was a nice touch to have the two bathrooms distinguished with the Rooster and Hen. I'm definitely going to come back and try more menu items. Everyone and their dog will hear about this restaurant from me.

You know this is a happening spot when the music is popping, the smiles are big, and the smells are alluring. This is a cozy and fun location to have a great lunch with coworkers or dinner with family. The staff was on point, always ensuring that I'm having a good time and enjoying my food with good attention to details. The menu has a great spread and variety but it's simple not to confuse with too many options. The quality of the food is excellent with that rustic home cooking that Mom would make. I had mom's tacos and the pineapple upside down cake, definitely worth ruining my diet over Love to see the owners of this restaurant being involved and ensuring that every guest has been satisfied! This is definitely a spot you should check out, bring your friends and family for some amazing flavors and a great time! Keep up the amazing job and we will see you soon!

A very unique and tasty take on Mexican food! The carne asada was well marinated, the horchata was creamy, and the birria egg roll was DELICIOUS! The husband and wife owners are expressing creativity through their food and art! Checkout the murals!

Came here for lunch and the food was delicious. The drinks were also great. Food has a ton of flavor and generous portions. We took a ton of food home because it was so much. The Birria egg rolls were delicious! Service was fairly quick for lunch. Being a made to order I thought I’d be waiting longer. Service was friendly also.

10/10 recommend!! We decided we wanted Mexican one night and I googled some restaurants, this was one that had popped up. Everyone was so kind here despite being short staffed and the food was so good. The shrimp tacos were great with a little kick at the end & the birria nachos were fantastic and much more than we had anticipated. When we come back to Vegas we will definitely be back here!!

Visiting a friend in the area and he was running late. Decided to have lunch with him and I was planning on having Indian food next door, however it is closed on Tuesdays. Oh well. So I checked out this spot. I'm glad I did. The staff is really professional, the food is amazing. They even have vegetarian friendly options. If you are a traveler and needing to get away from the strip for Mexican, I recommend visiting this restaurant. If you do, tell Roxy,I said hi and thank her for allowing me to wait for my friend and charge my phone.

We had the birria tacos and the spicy shrimp plate. It was good but also very filling. The pinto beans were flavorful. We also had the chips salsa guacamole. I almost filled up on their tasty chips. Although, I’m used to a more chunkier salsa. The staff are super friendly. It’s a cozy spot. I’d definitely try it again.
